Elmhurst Academy reaches out to community with International Peace Crane Project

ELMHURST – Elmhurst Academy teachers, students and families came together to participate in the International Peace Crane Project to inspire peace and unity throughout the community.

The peace project was in align with the school’s beginning of the year peace study and celebration that taught students to practice peaceful bodies, relationships and spread kindness to their peers in dynamic ways.

The Peace Crane Project is an international collaboration first inspired by Sadako Sasaki in Japan, who created these cranes with the idea that, “I will write peace on your wings and you will fly all over the world.”

Through this project, participants are encouraged to fold a peace crane, fill it with words and pictures of peace and share it with someone around the community.
