A downtown Elmhurst coffee company is asking for city assistance to expand into the north York corridor, a move owners say could double their sales and make room to add on-site coffee roasting to their business.

Owners Melissa Villanueva and her husband, Angelo Sepulveda, of Brewpoint Coffee Company, 124 W. Park Ave., made their request Monday for $100,000 in city tax increment financing assistance to aldermen on the city’s Development, Planning and Zoning Committee.

Aldermen mostly listened this week, but asked the pair to come to their next meeting on Nov. 28 to continue the discussion.
