Elmhurst Scout Organizes Tree Planting Project

An Elmhurst Scout found a conservation project to earn Eagle Scout status while helping the Elmhurst Park District reforest a ravine on the west side of Salt Creek.

Cody Coha, the 17-year-old Eagle Scout candidate, organized a group of volunteers from his Elmhurst Troop 82 Saturday to help plant about 120 small oak trees, a mix of swamp white oaks and burr oak in an area behind the Clarion Inn north of Eldridge Park, on the other side of the creek. Coha said the trees were donated to the park district.
